Competition Success at Kidkast
Another fantastic weekend for Kidkast as they took to the stage last Saturday in the O’Reilly Theatre in Dublin to take 3rd place in the All Ireland Showchoir 2017 competition. A huge achievement for our 57 strong Musical Theatre students, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years, who performed the “Lion King”. The judges spoke of it being like a West End production and all the judges commented on Josh Keating as a force to be reckoned with in the future. It was a great evening’s entertainment for the parents who travelled to support. The video of the performance is posted on our Facebook page, as are photos from behind the scenes and of the show. We are immensely proud of all who took part and we would like to thank all the parents who helped on the day and in particular Jan Mac Dhonnchadha and Jessica Woods who between them body painted all the students preparing them for the stage. We would also like to thank the Belvedere Hotel for allowing us to use their facilities between tech rehearsal and the show.
In Clondalkin last Sunday Chris Howick Crook was crowned Dancer Of The Year. This propels Chris to “Premier Champ” status, an amazing achievement..!!! Chris is an inspiration to the other students and is always happy to help and has a huge future ahead of him. Also on the day Jenny Howick Crook took 6th place under 8 solos, Gabriele Miniuskaite Karoliute took 5th place under 12 solos, Alesia Astilean took 1st place under 10 solos and Gabriele and Alesia took 3rd place doubles. Congratulations to all.
Crews are opening up to new students. They are a great addition to classes and are fun and very rewarding. Please ask Tracey for further information.
