IT’S SHOWTIME

IT’S SHOWTIME

After 2 long years we are excited to announce our Annual Show “For One Night Only” will take place on Saturday 4th June 2022 in the TLT Theatre in Drogheda at 2pm & 6.30pm. All Dance & Musical Theatre classes will take part in this show, except for our Song and Dance class for ages 3–4-year-old class on Saturday morning at 9.10am and our Drama classes.

Please take your time reading this as it contains important information –

For our new parents and students, the end of year show is a huge production. It features all the Dance & Musical Theatre Kidkast students from Drogheda and Collon. Check out our Facebook page for video snippets of previous shows. Each class performs a piece in the show and all classes have been working hard preparing, learning, and practising over the past year. We are all really excited about this year’s show, our first in 3 years! it’s gonna be a good one and we have some very very special guests.

When Is It..? Saturday 4th June 2022 in the TLT Theatre in Drogheda. Two shows, one at 2pm & the second at 6.30pm

Who takes part in the Show..?  All Dance & Musical Theatre classes (Drogheda and Collon) take part.

Are any classes NOT taking part..? Our 3 – 4yrs Song and Dance students from the 9.10am class on Saturday mornings and also our Drama students do not take part in the TLT Show (drama students will have their own performance later in the year!).

Of those taking part is everyone in both shows..? No. Students from the age 4 – 7 years classes (1/2 hour classes and Wednesday 45-minute at 4.15pm class) will only perform in the show which is at 2pm. All other students will take part in both shows, 2pm and also 6.30pm.

Are tickets on sale yet..? No, as we have not released tickets yet. We will let the school know as soon as they are available. Tickets can be purchased directly from the TLT Theatre booking office.

As you can imagine the logistics and organisation behind the scenes is enormous and we need your co-operation in this respect: –

  1. We will need confirmation that your child or children will / will not be taking part. This is important for the arranging of costumes, setting of the show and compiling our lists for security and safety.
  2. There is a costume and production fee of €15 per student which must be paid at reception which will act as confirmation of taking part. Please let us know over the next 2 weeks in order to allow us time to organise costumes and placings & we will close this out on Saturday 30th April. We presume students are not taking part unless advised otherwise.
  3. Attendance at classes is extremely important between now and showtime.  If a student needs to miss a class for whatever reason, we would appreciate an email to info@kidkast.ie to let us know. Missing an unacceptable number of classes may result in the child not being allowed to perform as it is not fair on the other students taking part.
  4. We ask those students, other than the age 4 – 7 classes, to commit to both shows. It causes a huge disruption to our performance when students only do one show and it isn’t fair on the other students. If you only plan on doing one show please let us know well in advance so that we can plan accordingly.
  5. Remember if your child is in a ½ hour class or the Wednesday 4.15pm Acro class they will only perform in the 2pm show – important when booking your tickets.
  6. Consent to photos and video. We will be employing a school photographer and videographer to capture our shows this year. We will be sharing photos and video footage for family and friends to enjoy on our social media pages. Please ensure your consent for this is updated on the parent portal. Students with no photographic consent will not be permitted to take part in the show. Please contact us if you have any questions around this.
  7. Finally, as always, we could not do this without the help from our parents. We are looking for parents to help at one or the other or both shows. Helpers will be given a group of children to chaperone and care for and not necessarily one that your child is in. If you are willing to help please email info@kidkast.ie with your name and the name of your child and also which show you are prepared to help on. Please do not offer to help at a show you intend watching.

More updates to follow however please feel free to ask if you have any questions or email info@kidkast.ie
