Another fantastic weekend for Kidkast as they took to the stage last Saturday in the O’Reilly Theatre in Dublin to take 3rd place in the All Ireland Showchoir 2017 competition. A huge achievement for our 57 strong Musical Theatre students, ranging in age from 8 to 18 years, who performed the “Lion King”. The judges spoke of it being like a West End production and all the judges commented on Josh Keating as a force to be reckoned with in the future. This weeks schedule is:- Wednesday, 1st November 6 to 8pm for those who can make it. This is an extra rehearsal and will concentrate on movement. Friday, 3rd November 5.30pm to 8.30pm (approx). This is an extended rehearsal and we expect everyone to be at this rehearsal as the competition is the following day. Saturday, 4th November bus collection 12 noon at bus bay opposite entrance to Garda Station on the bank of the river. Spectators bus to leave 5.30pm from carpark at KFC. In keeping with the Kidkast ethos of learning in a fun, no pressure environment we are introducing Guitar lessons at Old Abbey Dance Studios under the tutorage of Sean Murtagh. Sean is a first year student of Sound Technology at Pulse College (Windmill Lane Recording Studios) in Dublin. Running all day on Saturdays, classes are for ages 8 years and upwards, 45 minutes long and are strictly limited to 4 students in each group. They cost €30 for 4 lessons (€7.50 per lesson). Last Saturday was the fifth Saturday of the first term and we are now settled into the current year, 2017 to 2018. Club is a brilliant way to experience the full ensemble of classes at a greatly reduced class rate. Club is for students who take at least four hours of classes on a Saturday and only applies to Saturday classes.
